What Is CSF?
CVCHS CSF is one club among many others in the State of California with the purpose of fostering high school standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship and to promote appropriate activities among its members. The official motto of CSF is "Scholarship for Service".
CSF is run by officers including the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Manager, and Chairpeople. Officers are elected in the previous Spring semester each year with the exception of Chairpeople, who must reapply each semester. The duties of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer are those which are usual to their respective offices. Chairpeople, however, are those who go beyond just being a member of CSF. They lead groups of members in carrying out a service project or fundraiser, which all members must take part in and complete by the end of the semester. If you are interested in applying as a chairperson, please see the "Chairperson Application Form" under the "Forms" tab.

Applying For CSF
The application period to become a member of CSF takes place during the beginning of each semester. Students in the second semester of the tenth grade, and in grades eleven and twelve who meet the requirements shall be eligible for semester membership. Associate members shall be second semester ninth graders and first semester tenth graders whose grades meet CSF requirements, and also junior high transfers in their first semester of attendance who are Honor Members of the California Junior Scholarship Federation.
To qualify for CSF, those applying must earn a minimum of ten (10) points from last semester's grades. Points are awarded depending on the grades received in each class. No CSF points are given for physical education, courses taken in lieu of physical education, subjects repeated to improve a grade, courses involving clerking and office/teaching assisting, and courses taken on a pass/fail basis. The student's record for the previous semester must have grades no lower than "C". Please see the "CSF Member Application" under the "Forms" tab to see if you qualify.
Please note that membership is for one semester only, and may be renewed whenever the student again meets the requirements.

CSF Members
Active members of CSF are expected to attend at least three (3) meetings, complete fifteen (15) hours of service, and participate in and complete their assigned group's service project each semester. Please note that while members are only required to attend three meetings, each meeting is very important. In these meetings you sign up for positions in your committee fundraiser/service project (that you are required to take part in) and work with your committee to carry out your fundraiser/service project.
Your CSF Officers
Co-Presidents, Daniel Nihtianov and Toshio Longley:
Hi my name is Daniel Nihtianov and I am the co-president for CSF. I'm a senior this year and have been involved in this organization since my freshman year. Outside of CSF I'm also a recycling club officer, and a member of Senior Men. I love getting involved in our community and can't wait to see what this year has to offer! Hello my name is Toshio Longley and I am a senior at Clayton Valley. Aside from being co-president for CSF, I am involved in other community service organizations like Senior Men. I hope all of our members will find joy in giving back to the community. |
Vice President: Mina Gardizi
My name is Mina Gardizi, and I’m a current senior! I have been in CSF since Freshman year and was also in CJSF in middle school. I decided to run for Vice President this year because I had thought why not, and it worked out perfectly and I got to try something new. I have done soccer and volleyball throughout high school, and was a gymnast all my life until high school, when I decided to start coaching the kids at my gym. I love to read and am super into medical related things, which is why I joined the medical academy my freshman year. I am going to college to study biology and go into pre-med, and then hopefully study to become a doctor! I would 100% recommend joining CSF as it is a great experience and it is opportunity to add to your college resume! |
Communications Manager: Darya Solayman
Hi, I'm Darya Solayman and currently I am a junior. I am so excited to be this year's communication manager for CSF. I have been involved with this program since seventh grade with CJSF. Outside of school I love playing water polo and swimming and hanging out with all of my friends. |
